Subaru has issued a pair of recalls this week, targeting four of its most popular models in Australia from model-years 2015 and 2016.
The first concerns 2015 and 2016 Forester XT and WRX models with direct-injection turbocharged engines, as a weakness has been identified with the air-intake.
The intake duct may develop a crack, as materials used to construct the duct may not be to specification.
A crack and subsequent air-intake discrepancies may lead to rough engine idle, a loss of power or in extreme cases, a stalled engine.
Should the engine stall while driving, a hazard may result for the vehicle’s occupants and other road users.
A total of 1941 cars are included in the recall.
