Subaru has reportedly moved to reassure customers a replacement for the now-retired Tribeca SUV is in the pipeline.
Speaking with Cars.com in the US, Subaru Communications Manager Dominick Infante said the Japanese carmaker had not given up on the large, ‘three-row’ SUV segment.
"We are actively working on a next-generation three-row; we're not giving up on it," Mr Infante said.
Infante said the new model would need to be bigger and more spacious than its predecessor, adding that Subaru could choose to build a larger version of its Outback wagon or follow Mazda’s with a model similar to the CX-9.
Size has previously been raised as a key letdown in the Tribeca, although the new ‘Subaru Global Platform’ detailed earlier this year may solve interior space concerns.
