Subaru may finally be making progress with its anticipated new seven-seat SUV, a new report out of the US suggests.
Talk of a replacement for the now retired Tribeca SUV has been circulating for some time, and Subaru itself has confirmed plans for a new three-row model on a number of occasions.
Recent reports suggest the Japanese carmaker is still debating the new model’s styling path, but it seems another department is now seeking buyer feedback on its potential name.
According to enthuiast site Jalopnik, the screengrab below (click to view the full image) reveals one section of a multi-page survey recently sent to existing Subaru customers.
On this one page, we see six potential names, for which the participant is asked to offer a rating out of 10.
Among the names proposed are: Centauri, Cypress, Ascent, Meridian, Sojourn and Columbia.
Although this survey - if authentic - does not necessarily represent a finalised shortlist, we could soon see one of these names appear on the rump of a big new Subaru in the not-too-distant future.

Maybe they could just keep with the naming of NYC suburbs named with acronyms. Something like the Subaru DUMBO or the NOHO!
I would go for the NOHO.. I like it seriously...
Why not just call all their cars Fugly, that's the name I hear most when it comes to Subaru.
Should have an option to call it the 'Subaru Clive Palmer' Fat, ugly, underpowered and expends a lot of resources to get nowhere fast.
Call the subaru - BARS! (Snow leopard). Bars is a large cat native to the mountain ranges of Central and South Asia. Original name of the snoe leopard is bars!
