It sits on the performance brand's familiar multi-spoke wheels, carries a big rear wing and wears the distinctive "World Rally Blue" colour. It is the hotly-anticipated, but never confirmed, Subaru BRZ STI.
Dubbed BRZ Concept STi, the car shown here is our first official look at Subaru's take on the new rear-wheel-drive coupe it has developed in partnership with Toyota.
It also follows a flood of leaked information images and details on Toyota's own version, the FT-86, which we can now see will be almost identical to Subaru's coupe.
Being an STI version, this concept has had a proper going-over: rear guards are sharpened and flared and there's a tougher front and rear bumper design.
While the BRZ Concept STI's headlights and nose are virtually identical to the FT-86, Subaru has blessed its car with a sharper tail-light and boot-lid design than those on the Toyota. The C-Pillar looks to have a soft second kink also.
These features may all be unique to this STI concept, but only time will tell.
Technical details for the concept have not been revealed, but the BRZ has long been expected to feature the same engine driving the FT-86. Leaked Toyota documents this week point to figures of 147kW and 205Nm of torque.
Watch for the BRZ Concept STI to make its in-the-metal debut at the LA Auto Show on November 16.
