Subaru Australia has boosted the appeal of its entry-level Forester SUV with a new special edition model.
Based on the 2.5i-L and simply called ‘Special Edition’, the new model brings a list of add-ons for a $2000 premium above the $32,990 plus on-roads price-tag of the standard 2.5i-L with CVT automatic.
Power comes from the same 2.5 litre ‘Boxer’ four-cylinder engine that powers the regular 2.5i-L, making 126kW and 235Nm with a fuel figure of 8.1 l/100km.
The package includes leather-trimmed seats with perforated inserts; which are heated for front seat passengers and power-operated for the driver.
There’s also keyless entry and push-button start.
Outside, the Special Edition gets rain-sensing front windscreen wipers with a de-icing feature, along with heated door mirrors.
‘High-lustre’ 17-inch alloy wheels complete the Special Edition package.
“Forester Special Edition offers incredible value for money - there is a long list of extra equipment, and it’s equipment that buyers love in an SUV,” Subaru Australia Managing Director, Nick Senior, said.
“Forester remains a firm favourite in our family-friendly all-wheel-drive range and this Special Edition underlines its value on top of the proven Subaru traits of durability, safety, rock-solid engineering and retained value.”
The 2015 Subaru Forester range arrived in Australia in March, bringing new automatic diesel variants and dramatic range-wide price-cuts thanks to Australia’s Free Trade Agreement with Japan.
The Forester 2.5i-L Special Edition is on sale now.
