UPDATE: The new Stavic has surfaced in new photos out Korea. Check them out here.
SsangYong has released new art for its next-generation Rodius people-mover, sold in Australia in its current incarnation as the Stavic.
Free of the usual concept embellishments, the artwork shown here reveals that the new Stavic will do away with the unfortunate styling of its predecessor.
The new model advances the progressive new design language kickstarted with the smaller Korando.
Up front, the Rodius will feature a new gille design inspired by the new Actyon Sports ute, along with large swept-back headlights.
The previous model's Mercedes ML-inspired D-pillar remains, with the tent-like design of the previous model's rear window replaced by a sharp new take on the concept.
Full details are still to be revealed, although SsangYong has confirmed that engine options will include a 3.2 litre petrol engine and a smaller 2.0 litre diesel.
Debut timing has not been confirmed, but a Geneva Motor Show launch is expected. Watch for this one to hit Australia in the coming year.
