SsangYong has issued a recall for its Stavic people-mover in Australia this week, due to a potential problem with the front shock absorbers.
The carmaker has identified a weakness with the shocks, which may be susceptible to damage if operated under “extreme conditions”.
Continued use under these operating conditions may see one or both front shocks fail or cease to operate in a normal fashion, leading to a loss of control for the driver. Should this occur, a hazard may be present for the vehicle occupants and other road users.
A total of 120 SsangYong Stavics are on the recall list for Australia, sold between May and December 2014.
SsangYong will attempt to contact affected owners shortly, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer.
