SsangYong has revealed its new SIV-1 concept in Geneva this week, confirming the showcar will become "a stategic model in the range" when it transitions to production.
SsangYong says the styling of the SIV-1 is drawn from its new "Nature Born 3 Motion" design language, which debuted with the earlier XIV concept range.
Like the XIV concepts before it, the SIV-1 features a tapered roofline with a high beltline and flared guards, while the front-end reveals long LED-rich headlights connected to a broad letterbox grille.
Engine options for the SIV-1 include a 150kW 1.6 litre turbocharged petrol mill, and a 110kW/360Nm turbo 1.6 litre diesel.
Six-speed manual and dual-clutch automatic transmissions will also be offered.
Watch for more details on the SIV-1 as it nears its production debut, expected sometime in 2014.
