SsangYong has revealed a new range-extended hybrid SUV concept, dubbed e-XIV.
Unveiled at this week's Paris Motor Show, this latest iteration of the ‘XIV’ range of concepts builds on the styling of the XIV-1 and XIV-2.
The e-XIV’s name stands for ‘e’lectric e’X’citing user ‘I’nterface ‘V’ehicle, in reference to its electrified drivetrain and its ability to control all major interior functions through a single touchscreen display.
This latest version is most closely related to the XIV-2 unveiled at this year’s Geneva show, but with redesigned headlights and front fascia and blue-tinted taillights among the key changes.
The e-XIV is said to employ a similar setup to the Holden Volt, with an electric motor providing driving force, backed up by a small petrol engine acting as a generator.
