Spyker is back - returning to the automotive fray with a new model called the C8 Preliator.

The carmaker chose the Preliator name, which means “fighter” in Latin, as a symbol of its rise from the canvas when it looked down and out, and to also pay tribute to its 100-year-old aeronautical heritage.

On display at the Geneva Motor Show, the Preliator is the latest C8 model and follows the Aileron variant from the same motor show in 2009.

Power comes from an Audi-sourced 4.2 litre petrol V8 making 387kW/600Nm, matched with either a manual or ZF automatic transmission with paddle-shifters - both six-speed.
