Skoda has let slip a pair of com-gen images of its VisionS concept, which is set to make its first public appearance at Geneva next month. The VisionS provides an early taste of Skoda's first seven-seat production SUV, expected to debut either late this year or in the first half of 2017.

The VW Tiguan-based Skoda Yeti has been the Czech brand's sole SUV for a number of years now, but as global demand for high-riding SUVs and crossovers has swelled, so too has Skoda's desire to expand its SUV product lines.

The VisionS shows what we can expect, with Skoda describing it as a true three-row SUV with dimensions that place it at the upper end of the medium SUV space.

Measuring 4700mm long, 1910mm wide and 1680mm tall, the primary competitors for a production version would be the Nissan X-Trail and Mitsubishi Outlander, the only sub-premium medium SUVs to presently offer a seven seat congifuration.

The VisionS show car has six seats in a 2:2:2 layout, but it's not hard to imagine the production offspring bearing a more traditional 2:3:2 seven-seat config.

As for engines and further interior details, that intel is still under a tight lid. All will be revealed closer to the VisionS' public showing at Geneva on March 1.
