Skoda's upcoming Rapid small car has been spied testing in Europe in recent weeks. If that weren't enough, the Volkswagen-owned Czech brand has also doled out a full gallery of teaser images.

Cropped as close as they are, the teaser photos reveal little of the bigger picture, but offer plenty on the car's finer details.

Paired with these new illustrations and TMR's spy photos, it is clear that the sharp understated lines of the MissionL concept will feature on Skoda's new sedan.

Skoda has worked to obscure the test car's finer details with printed stickers taped over both ends of the car, disguising the grille and lights to appear more like the older and larger Octavia.

No effort has been made to hide the Polo-like bonnet shape and confident profile lines.

The new Rapid will enter the Skoda line-up between the light Fabia and the midsized Octavia.

"As part of its growth strategy, Skoda has initiated the largest model offensive in its corporate history and will bring a new vehicle to market every six months on average in the years ahead,” Skoda boss Winfried Vahland said.

“The Rapid is our next new model. It has a central importance for our growth and will provide us with a strong tailwind on international markets,” he added.
