Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee has been a breath of fresh air, putting cars and comedy together in a wholly new and very funny way.

Those who caught the first two seasons will be pleased to learn that the third season is about to get under way.

Aired entirely online, the Comedians/Cars/Coffee series launched in 2012 with a simple premise: pick up a friend in an exotic example of automotive legend, go for a ride, grab a coffee... and go for another ride.

Season One saw Seinfeld joined by the likes of co-conspirators Larry David and Michael Richards, British comic Ricky Gervais, American star Alec Baldwin and the legendary Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner.

In Season Two, Seinfeld roped in chat show host David Letterman, along with comics Sarah Silverman and Chris Rock, and comedy writer and star Seth Meyers.

Seinfeld will knock things up a notch with Season Three on January 2, welcoming Saturday Night Live alumni and 30 Rock creator Tina Fey, shock jock Howard Stern, Jay Leno, Louis C.K, Patton Oswalt and Todd Barry.

As for season 3's metal stars, watch for a Pontiac GTO Judge, a Volvo P1800, a Fiat Jolly, a DeLorean and an MG.
