Seat Leon ST Cupra Becomes Fastest Wagon Around The ‘Ring: Video

Seat briefly had the title of fastest hot hatch around the Nurburgring Nordschliefe when it sent a Leon Cupra 280 around the 22km circuit in a dazzling 7:58.44.

Renault quickly stole that crown with the Megane RS 275 Trophy-R, but now Seat has a new accolade to crow about: that of "fastest wagon on the Nordschliefe".

Astonishingly, Seat has managed to beat the Leon Cupra 280's fastest lap time with the larger, heavier wagon variant of that car, the Leon ST Cupra 280.

The time differential may only be 0.44 of a second but it's a mighty impressive effort considering the wagon-bodied Leon ST Cupra 280 takes 6.0 seconds to sprint to 100km/h, 0.3 seconds slower than the three-door Leon Cupra 280.
