Under the bonnet, a range of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines spans from 85kW to 140kW starting with a 1.0 litre petrol and finishing with a 2.0 litre diesel. Both front and all-wheel-drive options are available.
The Ateca’s technology includes Traffic Jam Assist, a system that allows the Ateca to steer, accelerate, and brake itself within set parameters at “traffic jam speeds” of up to 60km/h.
The Ateca also offers Emergency Assist, able to detect an unresponsive driver the system will first alert the driver by an audible warning, followed by a tap of the brakes. If no action is taken by the driver the car will slow itself to a standstill while maintaining its lane position.
Connectivity comes via Seat’s Easy Connect infotainment systems that bundle MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto together, displayed on an 8.0-inch touchscreen display, and backed up with wireless charging.
It's set to make its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
