American tuning house Saleen has released a telling teaser image today of its latest 302 Mustang special.
The first of Saleen’s 302 Series models to utilise the all-new Mustang (due here in 2015), this enhanced coupe will bring a number of tricks to the party.
This revealing teaser shows off the 302’s extensive styling changes, including a re-shaped grille designed to deliver a wider and more ‘60s muscle car’ look.
There’s a hint of Chevy Camaro or Dodge Challenger in the new special’s face, but a redesigned track-inspired bumper and bulging bonnet both serve to give the 302 a unique look.
The 302’s guards also appear wider in this shot, although that could be a dash of visual trickery.
Full details for the souped-up Mustang are still to come, but we can likely expect power to come from an enhanced version of the new model’s 5.0 litre Coyote V8.
Official outputs for the engine’s Mustang application are still to be confirmed, but Ford has so far confirmed a figure of around 313kW.
Expect the Saleen version to make a good deal more power, somewhere in the neighbourhood of 350kW or better.
