Rolls-Royce is preparing to grow its new Ghost - already the company's best-selling model since its debut last September - into a full line-up, as part of a plan to double its 2010 sales figures.

Speaking with business paper Bloomberg, Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes said that he was "quite confident" that new variants would join the Ghost line.

Although he did not offer details on whether we would see a coupe or a drophead-like convertible Ghost, Mueller-Oetvoes said he sees "a lot of potential in the market" for a more enthusiast- or recreation-focused Ghost.

Despite a push for increased sales, Mueller-Oetvoes said that the company's focus will remain on exclusivity, only ever building a car when a specific order has already been placed.

Following a 17 percent drop in sales in 2009 - thanks to the global financial crisis - Rolls Royce aims to sell around 2000 cars this financial year, with 1467 already sold.

Rolls' Volkswagen-owned former partner and now rival Bentley has sold 2489 cars so far this year.

Driven largely by demand in the increasingly cashed-up Chinese market, Rolls-Royce is currently building around three Ghosts for every Phantom ordered - a fact which has helped China become the BMW-owned British marque's second biggest market behind the US.
