Infiniti Considering S-Class Rival: Report
Speaking with Auto Express, Infiniti President Johan de Nysschen apparently said he would like to see the carmaker develop its 2009 Essence concept into a new flagship model.
"An Infiniti halo car is important for our future,” Mr de Nysschen said. “It should have a strong emotional character and is likely to be a powerful and exciting coupe."
Infiniti won’t be rushing an S-Class rival into production, however, with de Nysschen saying that his aim for such a model would be “the end of the decade”.
In the meantime, Infiniti could build a sedan version of the Essence first and then hand it over to its new specialist performance tuning arm.
