Report: Daimler Mulling Aston Martin Takeover… Or Is It?

New reports out of Europe suggest that Aston Martin’s deal with Mercedes parent Daimler could go well beyond the current engine supply arrangement.

Late last year, the two companies confirmed a deal that would see next-generation Astons powered by new AMG engines, with the first specimens set to appear in the next few years.

Now, British site Autocar reports that Mercedes boss Dieter Zestsche has admitted that his company could be willing to get more involved in the beloved British brand.

“This is a fantastic brand, and we are willing to support its further development,” Zetsche said - leading the website to speculate that a full takeover could even be on the cards.
