But, while Holden’s Volt was largely identical to the US-market Chevrolet, Opel’s model was blessed with a more sporting face and rump that better exemplified the German brand’s styling language.
Now, with an all-new 2015 Volt making its debut earlier this month as a Chevrolet, we could yet see a special Opel-styled version appear in the new future. March’s Geneva Motor Show could prove an ideal venue.
This new speculative rendering, produced by independent designer X-Tomi, offers one idea of how the Opel model’s styling might appear.
Holden, for its part, has yet to confirm an Australian debut for the new Volt. If we do see the new Volt in local showrooms, however, it might also bring a change: out with Chevrolet’s look and in with Opel’s.
The lion brand has already revealed that a wider range of Opel models will come to Australia, meaning that a German-styled version of the Volt might prove a better fit, joining the more premium end of the local Holden range.
