BMW 2 SERIES GRAN COUPE

BMW's new 2 Series Coupe has been put through the design blender again this week, with new renderings teasing another look at a 'Gran Coupe' four-door model. 

The Gran Coupe badge is working its way across the BMW range. The 6 Series line-up was the first to get the new style, but a 4 Series Gran Coupe has also been spied testing in recent weeks. 

Now, a new series of renderings from enthusiast community 2Addicts has previewed what we could expect from a 2 Series Gran Coupe, including a range-topping M2 Gran Coupe hero. 

In M2 form (or should that be 2 Series M?), this speculative rendering sees the small four-door upgraded with fatter guards - vented at the front - along with larger wheels and the familiar BMW M bumper design. 

What would drive the M2? There's already a 240kW turbo engine driving the M135i and M235i models, but that doesn't necessarily mean a hefty power boost would come to the top M model. 

BMW could instead focus on chassis and aerodynamics, debuting a model inspired by the M235i Racing track car revealed last week. 

For its part, BMW M has yet to announce plans for an M2, although CEO Dr Friedrich Nitschke reportedly confirmed that a successor to the 1 Series M Coupe is in the works. 

For that matter, there has also been no confirmation of a 2 Series Gran Coupe - but if what we see here is anything to go by, it could prove a popular addition to the Coupe and upcoming Convertible.
