Ford’s all-new Everest has been given an official unveiling this week, and with it comes the first new rendering of next year’s expected Ranger update.

Crafted by independent artist Theo Chin, this new rendering sees the Everest SUV’s face transplanted onto the familiar Ranger body, including that big new three-slot grille, new headlights and new bumper.

TMR’s own spy photos reveal that this look is likely very close to what we can expect to see in 2015, although our shots of a camouflaged prototype also hint at a grille design more in-line with some of Ford’s big overseas ‘F-Truck’ models.

And, with the updated Ranger spied testing in the US earlier this year, that Americanised grille design could be a hint of a launch in the brand’s homeland.

The refreshed Ranger will bring a number of other tweaks, many focused on interior materials and a redesigned dash.

The Ranger as we know it remains a strong seller for Ford in Australia, with year-to-date sales topping 22,539 at the end of October.

Ford’s popular pickup is still well behind the dominant HiLux however, which currently boasts 31,876 year-to-date sales. In fact, 4WD variants in the HiLux line have topped the Ranger’s overall sales on their own, at 22,876.

Ford has little to be upset about, though: while the HiLux was Australia's second best-selling car in October, the Ranger wasn't far behind, finishing fifth.
