This is the upcoming all-new coupe from Renault subsidiary Alpine photographed in a design studio.
Expect the covers to be whipped from the production version - looking slightly different and powered by a turbocharged 1.8-litre petrol engine - next month at the Paris Motor Show.
However the car photographed is actually a ground-breaking all-new coupe for specialist British sports car company Caterham - a car which would be the star attraction at (say) the Birmingham Motor Show.
It seems all is not lost on this project for Caterham with reports in the British media suggesting the so-called Caterham C120 might still be a goer.
Automotive historians and Caterham enthusiasts will recall the Anglo-French relationship to develop this car kicked-off about four years ago.
But in 2014 Renault steered the ship in a different direction when it purchased Caterham’s shareholding in Alpine and took development of the all-new coupe in-house in France.
At the time Caterham said it would proceed with development of the C120, its version of the handsome two-door coupe.
In fact, Mark Przeslawski, lead designer at Drive Designs, the firm responsible for the concept, said the car photographed was not the finished product and things actually improved as work progressed.
Speculation has the Caterham C120 employing the same 235kW/297Nm supercharged Ford 2.0-litre engine it installs in the Caterham Seven 620R sports car.
