Renault has unveiled a new twin-turbocharged 1.6 litre twin-turbo diesel, which the French carmaker claims is a first for a diesel engine of its size.
The twin-turbo design is aimed at maximising low-end torque, while also boosting power at higher revs, with Renault saying the new engine “feels like a 2.0 litre”.
Besides the two turbochargers, the new ‘Energy dCi 160 Twin Turbo’ power plant also comes with a 25 percent improvement in fuel consumption.
