Renault Planning 7-Seat Koleos: Report

Renault will reportedly expand its SUV range further in the years ahead, with a new seven-seat model in the preliminary planning stages.

The French carmaker recently unveiled its new Kadjar small SUV, joining the Captur and Koleos in the compact and medium segments respectively.

But Renault is apparently looking to cover even more SUV bases, and a seven-seat model would serve a new market segment for the carmaker.

Speaking with the UK’s Auto Express, Renault’s Jerome Stoll reportedly said the new model was coming, but would be a few years off.

“It’s too early to say just yet - Kadjar is part of a renewal plan, we are specialists in the multi-passenger vehicle, we invented it, and now we are moving into the crossover,” Mr Stoll said.

“I believe that Renault for the past two years now has been renewing the range with a number of products. They have much more attractive designs and the new cars are now very successful.”
