Renault rolled-out the new Megane Sport Tourer at the Geneva Motor Show and this handsome five-seater is scheduled for Australian launch next year.
There are two versions – the Megane Sport Tourer and Megane Sport Tourer GT (the latter with some extra technology and styling pizzaz courtesy of Renault Sport).
The styling nicely adapts the all-new Megane to wagon form with a sloping roofline/rising glasshouse and unique C-shaped headlights.
Stepping-up in the range, the GT version scores a purposeful front bumper with extra air-inlets, honeycomb mesh grilles, rear diffuser and optional 18-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, Renault Megane Sport Tourer GT picks-up sports seats (Alcantara available), leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, aluminium pedals, a unique gear-lever, steering wheel paddle-shifters and blue highlights.
But underneath is where things get really interesting – the Megane Sport Tourer GT runs Renault’s ‘4Control’ system which provides some rear-wheel steering.
Under the bonnet, the wagon version of the Megane will feature the usual array of petrol and diesel engines.
On a more practical note, the all-new Renault Megane Sport Tourer offers a load area which is 2.8-metres in length and delivers a capacity of 580-litres.
