First there was the Clio RS 200 Australian Grand Prix Limited Edition, launched earlier this year. Now, Renault's local arm is topping up its street cred with the launch of the Megane RS Monaco Grand Prix Limited Edition in Australia.
The Monaco GP LE will be offered in more than a dozen markets globally, with only 50 slated for the Australian market.
Styling enhancements include a pearlescent white paint job, along with a piano-black finish to the side mirrors, rear diffuser and fog-lamp bezels. There are also black headlight masks and the customary Monaco GP badging.
In the cabin, the special Megane gets heated, power-adjusted and leather-trimmed Monaco GP seats, while the centre console, ash strip and door handles get white highlights. The floor mats also feature, that's right, Monaco GP stitching.
As an Australian first, the Megane RS 250 GP also gets integrated satellite navigation.
The quick coupe's powertrain remains unchanged, with motivation coming from a 2.0 litre four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 184kW and 340Nm of torque.
Channeling power to the front wheels through a six-speed transmission, the Megane RS 250 rockets to 100km/h in 6.1 seconds, and top speed is listed at 245km/h.
“The award-winning Mégane R.S. 250 has already become an instant classic in Australia and I am sure this exclusive limited edition will follow suit," Renault Australia MD Justin Hocevar said.
“This incredibly luxurious version of the Mégane R.S. 250 will appeal to lovers of hot hatches who don’t want to compromise on their everyday creature comforts. The snug and cosy Monaco GP sport seats will win over even the most a sceptical spouse."
Pricing and Availability
Available now, the Megane RS 250 Monaco GP has a recommended retail price of $48,990 (excluding dealer delivery and statutory charges).
