Renault has introduced the Megane R.S. 250 Australian Grand Prix Limited Edition for the local market, arriving in the lead-up to next month's F1 Grand Prix opener in Melbourne.
The new offering follows last year's Clio R.S. Aus GP special, along with news last week that the Megane R.S. 265 will hit local showrooms in the not-too-distant future.
The Megane R.S. 250 Aus GP's styling pack includes a gloss black finish and fixed glass roof - first seen on the Monago GP Limited Edition.
The European market's R.S. 250 Trophy's gloss black and red-ringed 19-inch wheels are also featured, wrapped in Bridgestone RE050A rubber.
Inside, the R.S. 250 Aus GP gets black leather height-adjustable Renault Sport RECARO front seats, along with satellite navigation.
Other features include bi-xenon directional headlights and parking sensors front and rear.
The quick coupe's powertrain remains unchanged, with motivation coming from a 2.0 litre four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 184kW and 340Nm of torque.
Channeling power to the front wheels through a six-speed transmission, the Megane RS 250 rockets to 100km/h in 6.1 seconds, and top speed is listed at 245km/h.
Pricing and Availability
Debuting on March 12 and priced at $49,990 plus on-roads (a $1000 premium over the Monaco GP edition), just 50 of Megane R.S. AGP cars will be offered, each with an individual build plaque.
