Renaultsport has turned up the wick on its Clio RS hot hatch, squeezing more power out of its 1.6 litre turbo four and beefing up the brakes and aero package to create this, the race-ready Clio Cup.
The interior is gutted to save weight and to make way for a welded-in roll cage (the previous Clio Cup has a less rigid bolt-in cage), and a revised aero package provides around 40kg of downforce at speeds above 193km/h.
Without its interior and other non-essential items like air conditioning, the 2014 Clio Cup weighs just 1065kg. That's nearly 140kg less than a showroom-spec Clio RS.
