Renault Australia has added a limited edition model to its Megane Coupe Convertible range, just in time for summer.
Called the Floride, the model’s name harkens back to the Renault 8 and Renault 10-based Florides of the 50s and 60s, although US versions were named “Caravelle” to avoid confusion with the state of Florida.
No such trouble with the name in Australia, although Canberra’s annual spring flower festival - Floriade - comes very close…
Unlike the painfully (leasurely?) slow rear-engined but water-cooled 1100cc versions of yesteryear, the modern day Floride gets the same 2.0 litre four-cylinder engine that powers the ‘regular’ Megane CC.
