Volvo has issued a recall for its all-new XC90 SUV due to a potential problem with the airbags.

Despite the new model having only arrived in Australia this month, overseas markets have already been grappling with the potential problem and Volvo Australia has moved early to rectify it.

A total of 232 vehicles have been recalled, and all are fitted with seven seats. The problem relates to the third-row airbags, which may not inflate fully during a collision.

Volvo also recalled 346 examples of its XC90, built between 2009 and 2010, last month. The current problem is in no way associated with the Takata airbag recall.

Foton is recalling its Tunland pickup, sold between January 2011 and December 2013.

A wiring fault with the seatbelt pre-tensioners may cause the airbag warning light to illuminate without cause, preventing the driver from receiving genuine warnings.
