Volvo has issued a recall in Australia this week for a trio of 2017 models, due to a potential problem with the curtain airbags.

The carmaker has identified an issue with the inflatable bag bolts, which may be subject to a manufacturing error.

In the event of a collision, the airbag may not properly inflate, increasing the risk of injury for the vehicle’s occupants.

The recall process will see the offending bolts replaced at no charge to owners.

Affected models include the S90, V90 Cross Country and XC90 SUV, all built for the 2017 model-year, with 524 vehicles on the recall list for Australia.
