Holden has recalled its full range of Commodore, Ute, Caprice and Sportwagon model in Australia this week, fitted with the factory LPG engine package.

The carmaker has identified a problem with the LPG vaporiser, which may have a loose electrical ground connection if the unit has been serviced or replaced.

A loose ground connection may cause a spark, resulting in a fire hazard in extreme circumstances.

Holden stresses that its LPG models are safe, as manufactured, and that only incorrect handling during a service procedure could potentially lead to problems.

Affected models are from the 2012-2015 model-years in both VE and VF spec (WM and WN for Caprice), built between February 2011 and September 2015. Just over 5000 vehicles are on the recall list for Australia.

The recall procedure will include an inspection of the LPG vaporiser ground strap connection, ensuring the ground bolt is securely fastened to the body and replacement of the fuel feed hose, if necessary.
