Earlier this week Jaguar announced its newest Ingenium engine - a four-cylinder petrol with a 221kW state of tune - would spread across its passenger and SUV ranges, and now sister-company Land Rover has joined the party, confirming the same engine for the Range Rover Velar.

The 2.0-litre petrol Ingenium engine range is Jaguar Land Rover’s own design, unlike previous Ford-sourced engines, and will be available with a range of outputs for different applications, the most powerful of which is the 221kW/400Nm version that will make its way into the Velar.
