Australia’s official Ram Trucks importer, Australian Special Vehicles, has unveiled its first special edition model, the Ram 2500 Code Black.

The limited-run model, converted to right hand drive in Australia by ASV, features a range of black exterior features to give the already imposing pick-up some more visual muscle.

The Code Black treatment sees the grille, badges, side mirrors, and bumpers finished in black, with unique 20-inch alloy wheels (in place of the standard 18-inch wheels) and a set of black wheel arch flares.

Under the bonnet the 2500 Code Black retains the same 6.7-litre Cummins six-cylinder turbo diesel engine producing a massive 276kW and 1084Nm - over twice the outputs of a regular Aussie dual-cab, like the best selling toyota HiLux - matched to a six-speed automatic.

The Code Black has the same load capabilities as the stock 2500 with a payload of 913kg and a maximum braked towing capacity of up to 4500kg on a 70mm tow ball or as much as 6942kg using a pintle hitch.

Pricing for the Ram 2500 Code Black starts at $149,500 plus on-road costs, $10,000 more than the regular Ram 2500 which is priced at $139,500 plus on-road costs.
