Previewed in spy photos and official teaser art, the GQ3 is the final evolution of the C11 sedan penned by former MINI design boss Gert Volker Hildebrand.
Details on the new car are still to be revealed, but with European emissions laws to consider, a range of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines is likely.
The GQ3 is yet to undergo Euro NCAP crash safety testing, although Qoros says development of the new sedan focused on achieving a top rating.
The carmaker also promises a spacious interior and a strong set of features and trim options, including an eight-inch touchscreen display.
“During the development of the Qoros GQ3, we directed all our efforts towards the needs and expectations of today’s young, aspirational customers,” Qoros' Volker Steinwascher said.
“They are very sensitive about design and quality, are highly sophisticated users of technology, and insist on the very best safety standards. As an entirely new brand, we have the advantage of being able to focus our efforts, without compromise or distraction, on meeting the demands of these customers."
Formed in 2007, Qoros is a joint project between carmaker Chery Automobile - which already offers some models in Australia - and investment firm Israel Corp.
Whether the Qoros brand will come to Australia is unclear, although a possible launch in the right-hand-drive UK market would boost its local potential.
