UK based Autocar has revealed that MINI may be working on a raunchier version of its Countryman with Prodrive.

Prodrive currently runs MINI’s World Rally Championship division, and Prodrive’s chairman Dave Richards has previously indicated that a Prodrive fettled MINI is a possibility.

Autocar’s pics show an oddly be-winged Countryman sporting custom alloy wheels, while their sources confirm a Superchips-tuned version of the Cooper S’s 1.6 litre turbo petrol engine can be found under the bonnet.

All good news for a car that we think already has a brilliant engine (read our MINI Countryman review). Ever better if it MINI decide to ship it down-under.
