Porsche’s Glorious New 911 GT3 RS Revealed, $387,700 For Australia

Like the extra-special final version of the previous 997-based model, this new 991 version gets a 4.0 litre atmo flat six, replacing the 3.8 litre unit that powered the ‘regular’ GT3 RS in that earlier range.

Producing 368kW, the bigger bum-mounted heart matches the earlier ‘RS 4.0’ special to pump out 33kW more power than its predecessor, and Porsche’s boffins have found another 20Nm of torque beyond the RS 4.0’s 460Nm of torque.

The increased capacity also gives the RS a significant boost over the new GT3, which offers ‘a mere’ 350kW.
