If you thought the Porsche Cayman GT4 was manic, the boffins at Stuttgart aren’t done yet, adding an optional Clubsport package to the already bonkers GT4.

As far as standard specifications go the Cayman GT4 offers a 273kW 3.8 litre naturally-aspirated flat six engine that grunts out 420Nm from 4750 to 6000rpm. No PDK automatic to be seen either - this one comes with a six-speed manual only.

There’s a re-worked aero package, bigger brakes, and suspension and steering borrowed from the 911 GT3.

Add in the Clubsport option and you’ll gain a partial roll cage, six-point racing harnesses, a battery kill switch, and a ready-to-install fire extinguisher to prepare the flagship Cayman for a life on the track.

In case that isn’t enough to whet your appetite Porsche would like to offer you an early Christmas gift - in this case, a video of the Cayman GT4 Clubsport romping about on a closed airstrip.

Along with drifty, smokey, sinister shots of the Cayman doing what it does best, there’s also a few wild sound grabs of the 3.8 litre six at work - enjoy those, with Porsche heading down the turbocharged route the naturally aspirated GT4 could be the last of a dying breed.
