Porsche Australia has today announced the addition of a third model to its Black Edition line, with the Boxster S joining the 911 Coupe and Cabriolet in the special limited range.
Announced simultaneously with overseas markets, availability of the Porsche Boxster S Black Edition in Australia will be limited to just 987 cars.
On the styling front, the Boxster S Black Edition gets 19-inch black Boxster Spyder wheels, black body, black air intakes, black tailpipes, black roll-over bars, black instrument panel, a black gear selector surround and black model bade on the rear boot lid. (You might spot a theme here.)
Other features include a Sport Design leather steering wheel, Bi-Xenon headlights an auto-dimming interior and exterior mirrors.
Unlike the Carrera Coupe and Cabriolet variants, the Boxster S Black Edition benefits from a 7kW and 10Nm power boost, up to 235kW at 7200rpm and 370Nm at 4750rpm.
The increased output makes the Boxster S Black Edition one-tenth of a second quicker to 100km/h than its regular sibling, covering the run in 5.2 seconds with the standard six-speed manual transmission, and 5.1 with the optional seven-speed PDK transmission.
Fuel consumption is listed at 9.8 l/100km for the manual, and 9.4 l/100km for the PDK.
Pricing
The Boxster S Black Edition is on sale now, priced at $132,400 for six-speed manual and $137,700 for PDK – identical pricing as the Boxster S.
Deliveries commence late in April, together with the 911 Black Edition models.
