Porsche 911 – New Soundtrack On Show In Porsche Video

With a new generation of turbocharged petrol engines for Porsche’s 911 comes a new soundtrack.

And Porsche fans have been understandably concerned. Will the sounds on the new album be a match for the Porsche band’s earlier days, or has the band left its alternative days behind and gone ‘mainstream’?

Well now we have the answer, thanks to a video from Porsche outlining the credentials of its new forced induction powerplants.

As outlined last week, the Carrera and Carrera S are first cabs off the rank for Porsche’s new engine program, and both bring a 15kW lift in power over the outgoing models from the now bi-turbo 3.0 litre flat six-cylinder engine.

The new outputs are 272kW for the 911 Carrera and 309kW for Carrera S. Porsche says along with adding turbochargers to its powerplants it has changed the exhaust system and the engine management.
