Peugeot has handed down a second new set of teasers for its coming mystery concept, although there’s very little mystery in its intent.
While the French carmaker is playing its cards close to the chest, a teaser clip released last week pointed clearly to a new supercar design.
This latest trio of images, revealing a pair of stylised sketches and a tightly cropped rendering, reveal that we can expect a futuristic new coupe concept to appear in the weeks ahead.
But, as with the likewise forward-thinking 500kW Onyx concept revealed in 2012, we shouldn’t expect to see this new concept make the leap to driveways anytime soon.
In fact, PSA Peugeot Citroen boss Carlos Tavares has been clear: the company will continue to make sports cars, but you won’t see anything like the RCZ in the foreseeable future.
“Our brands need sports cars, but they’ll be more sporty derivatives than bespoke models,” Tavares told the UK’s Auto Express in September.
Instead, we can likely expect to see this new concept battle it out with dozens of other carmakers in Sony and Polyphony Digital’s special Vision Gran Turismo, which celebrates 15 years of the Gran Turismo racing simulator franchise.
