The recall action concerns a starter motor electrical connection which may be incorrectly fitted, this could lead to the connection coming in contact with metal components under the bonnet, leading to a short circuit which poses a potential fire risk.
Affected Peugeot vehicles were offered for sale in Australia from November 2014 until March 2017 while Citroen and DS vehicles were sold between May 2015 and August 2016. A total of 85 Citroen and DS vehicles are involved in the recall, with 1053 Peugeot cars on the recall list.
Peugeot and Citroen will contact known owners by mail to arrange a free inspection, and if necessary reposition the starter motor lug. Owners wishing to know more can contact Citroen Customer Services on 1800 898 058 or Peugeot Customer Service on 1800 307 607.
