A major update to Mitsubishi’s still-new Outlander SUV will debut at next year’s New York Auto Show, according to a report with US mag Motor Trend.
News of a facelifted Outlander will surprise few, however, after the carmaker revealed a significantly sharpened ‘concept’ in September.
Dubbed ‘Concept S’, the updated Outlander PHEV wore the existing model’s body, but with new front and rear styling inspired by Mitsubishi’s most recent show cars.
This week, Motor Trend reports that Mitsubishi Motors North America’s Don Swearingen has confirmed a debut for the facelifted model at the New York Auto Show in April.
News of an updated Outlander look comes less than three years after the current model’s global debut, which followed the unveiling of the earlier PX-MiEV concepts in 2009 and 2011 - which, in its way, makes the current Outlander’s look more than five years old.
