Opel's Motorsport arm has revealed a pair of new racing models, in the form of the Adam Cup and the Astra GTC Cup.
The enhanced Adam city car will hit the international rally scene in 2013, while the hopped-up Astra will star in a Germany-based racing program.
Opel deputy CEO Thomas Sedran says the new grassroots racers will play an important role in the company's makeover, describing both models as "a fundamental element of our brand profile".
The Adam Cup has been designed to FIA R2 regulations, making it a rival for Peugeot's 208 R2 and similar models. Opel plans to field the little performer in its Opel Rally Cup as part of the ADAC Masters series.
The Astra OPC Cup is built to VLN Endurance Championship standards and will focus specifically on a 24-hour race at the famed Nurburgring.
Technical details for both models will be revealed early in 2013, along with prices for private teams keen to get in on the action.
