Opel GT Coming Back? Concept Teaser Suggests So – Video

Opel has released a short video to kick off its teaser campaign for a new GT concept, ahead of an official debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

It is nearly 50 years since the appearance of the first Opel GT - a delectable, and now very collectable, slippery two-door coupe - which remains, arguably, its only 'real' GT sports car, the GT Roadster of 2007-10 was the Saturn Sky with an Opel badge, take a look at the two side-by-side, above. 

Until now... maybe.

With this 'rebirth', the carmaker certainly isn’t giving much away, but the new GT badge features along with a message from Opel CEO Dr Karl-Thomas Neumann himself.

“Take a look at Opel with a fresh pair of eyes,” Neumann says.

Opel refers to the concept as a “major step”, and it’s fair to say the GT will be more than just a casual project concocted by the design team in its spare time…
