Opel has released a teaser video for its new Corsa OPC, ahead of an official unveiling at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.

The video (below) shows a lightly camouflaged Corsa lapping Opel’s test centre in Dudenhofen, Germany, with race driver Joachim Winkelhock and Opel CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann behind the wheel.

The pair naturally run through a list of the Corsa’s strong points, including handling, practicality and improvements over the outgoing model.

Some strategically-placed engine noises prevent us from hearing the OPC’s power and torque figures, along with its price for the German market, as Opel is keeping those details under wraps until Geneva.

Rumours suggest a 1.6 litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing around 154kW - 13kW more than the current model.

Torque could also receive a lift, which reaches 260Nm in the current model on over-boost.
