Opel Adam Revealed: Fan Spies New City Car Filming TV Commercial

Opel's teaser campaign for its upcoming Adam city car has come undone this week, thanks to one eagle-eyed fan in the Spanish town of Miñano.

Spied testing around Europe in recent months, the Adam's name was revealed as part of an eleborate comic-strip teaser in May. Until now, little else has been revealed.

This week, Autofacil reader J Revuelta snapped off a round of grainy shots that offer a first look at the undisguised Adam, revealing Opel's perky new city car for the first time.

Entering the Opel range beneath the existing Corsa light car, the Adam features a unique new look that shows the little German will be positioned against the likes of the style-focused Fiat 500.

Comments from GM Europe boss Nick Reilly earlier this year suggested the Adam would carry a premium price for its segment, although new plans to turn the loss-making Opel around will see the brand steered away from its upmarket aspirations.

The Adam is nonetheless expected to bring a chic new style-savvy buyer to the brand, with a range of personalisation options boosting appeal.
