This is the Nissan Resonance concept. The carmaker's designers describe its style as a study in "the future of first-class space travel".

To keep things simple, let's just say it's a preview of the next-generation Murano SUV, with the usual motor-show flourish and flair.

In the Resonance, you'll find all the requisite concept features: a floating roof, long ribbon-like lighting design, cameras in place of rear-view mirrors, a futuristic interior and big 22-inch wheels.

It takes little stretching of the imagination to place the Resonance in an on-road scene, however. Swap in some conventional headlights and a regular grille, soften those origami character lines, and you're about there.

The styling shown here forms part of a new 'V-Motion' style, elements of which have already debuted in the softer-styled 2013 Pathfinder SUV.
