Nissan and in-house tuner Nismo have revealed images and details of its new Juke Nismo package, based on last year's concept of the same name.

Capitalising on the popularity of the recent GT-R powered Juke-R, the Juke Nismo brings a bevy of stying, handling and performance tweaks to the small SUV for European buyers.

On the styling front, the production Juke Nismo is largely identical to its concept forebear, with only the slightly taller ride height and smaller wheels setting it apart from the original design.

Aside from the enhanced design package, Nismo has fitted the Juke with stiffer suspension, along with sports-focused steering changes and a revised traction control system with torque vectoring.

Nismo promises a power and performance upgrade for the Juke's 1.6 litre direct-injected and turbocharged petrol engine, but it's not revealing any figures until this weekend's 24 Hours of Le Mans event.

The doors haven't been opened on this one just yet, but Nissan's tuning and styling specialist says we can expect an overhauled interior with sports versions of the steering wheel, seats, pedals, gauges, shifter knob and door trims.

Nissan says the Juke Nismo is just the first of a range of new Nismo-enhanced models, and we can likely expect January's Micra Nismo concept to feature next.

Watch for more details to come this weekend.
